Excitement Builds as International Mural Fest 2025 Approaches: A Celebration of Art, Community & Discovery

With the much anticipated International Mural Fest 2025 just around the corner, 2nd November to 8th November, Kentish Arts Commerce and Tourism is buzzing with final preparations for what promises to be a celebration of creativity, community spirit, and local talent.
This year’s theme, ‘Amazing Discoveries’ will be brought to life through the creation of nine stunning new murals over just six and a half days in Mural Park, continuing to cement the region’s identity as ‘Tasmania’s Outdoor Art Gallery’ and the ‘Town of Murals’.
But the mural magic doesn’t stop there, the Sheffield Arts Centre will host three exhibitions during the event: A Photographic Exhibition, a colourful and imaginative Kids’ Art Exhibition inspired by the theme ‘Amazing Discoveries and ‘Famous Artists Reimagined’ at the Sheffield Art Gallery. And, due to the popularity of last year’s interactive mural, this year’s event will include a paint-by-number mural, giving the public the chance to roll up their sleeves and be part of the artistic action.
Sandy Brattstrom, President of Kentish Arts Commerce and Tourism shared her enthusiasm:
‘We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from our sponsors and volunteers, and we’re looking forward to a vibrant and inspiring event this November. However, we are still seeking additional financial support from the wider community to help bring it all to life.’
International Mural Fest is a completely volunteer run initiative with no paid positions, made possible thanks to the generosity of individuals and businesses who believe in the power of public art to transform spaces, inspire people, and support our local economy through increased tourism throughout the year.
Get Involved – Make a Difference
Kentish Arts Commerce and Tourism is calling for volunteers to help during the week long event. Whether it’s welcoming visitors, supporting artists, selling raffle tickets, assisting in the kitchen, or helping install weather protection for murals, there’s a role for everyone.
From a few hours to a full week, every bit helps. ‘Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people, gain new skills, and be part of something truly special in our community,’ Sandy added.
To make a financial contribution or join our amazing team of volunteers, email us at info@muralfest.com.au or phone 0427 475 113. Together, let’s make this November one to remember.
