AND THE FINALISTS ARE….

Kentish Arts Commerce and Tourism is delighted to announce the nine Finalists for International Mural Fest 2024:
- Anna Wilde (Victoria) assisted by Judy Nelson (Tasmania)
- Gren Freeman (Tasmania)
- Helen English (Rotorua, New Zealand)
- Kerry Nicholson assisted by Malcolm Nicholson (Queensland)
- Lucretia Torva (Arizona, USA)
- Marco Pennacchia (Victoria)
- Jan Rigden Clay assisted by Shasa Bolton (Tasmania)
- Rebecca Hayes (Tasmania)
- Kristina Greenwood (New South Wales)
Sandy Brattstrom, President of Kentish Arts Commerce and Tourism commented, “We couldn’t be happier with the nine Finalists who have been selected to paint at International Mural Fest this year. The artists' interpretation of this year’s theme ‘The Magic of the Minuscule’ has translated beautifully onto board, and we cannot wait to see their inspiration become a reality at this year’s big event”.
And it is wonderful to see the United States and New Zealand being represented, and some familiar faces and newcomers bringing their talent to Sheffield.
Over the course of six and half days, International Mural Fest will test the artists’ skills, endurance and tenacity while subjecting them to public scrutiny, time constraints and unpredictable weather and will create an exciting and competitive competition in November.
We hope lots of people will join us for ‘Paint Off’ in Mural Park at 9am on Sunday 3rd November when we will countdown the seconds to the official start of Mural Fest when artists will start to sketch up their murals and begin painting.
Voting for your favourite mural will commence on Monday 4th November with ‘Brushes Down’ on Saturday 9th November at 12 noon, followed by the Miniature Mural Auction and Awards Presentation at 2pm. And, with ‘Taste of the North West’ running from 11am to 6pm at King George V Park on the 9th September, it is going to be an amazing day.
“We are very excited about this year’s event with lots of activities taking place over the course of the week including public mural painting on the Gulliver’s Travels mural at the Sheffield Arts Centre, The Magic of the Minuscule Through the Lens Photographic Contest exhibit, The Magic of the Minuscule Kids Art Contest exhibit and Working Arts Space Sheffield’s ‘Famous Artists Reimagined’ Exhibition at the Sheffield Art Gallery.”
Stay tuned for a full list of events taking place over Mural Fest week which will appear in November’s edition of ‘The Kentish Voice’ and will be posted on the Sheffield Community Noticeboard FB page.
